Brass is a gold colored copper-zinc alloy. The shade depends on the copper-zinc composition. Brass 85/15 has a dark golden color and is sometimes called “red brass”, Brass 70/30 has a rather yellowish golden color, and Brass 63/37 has a neutral golden color. The color of brass coins changes over time due to tarnishing.
Ample availability and competitive price of the material make brass the most widely used alloy in vending machines. It is corrosion free and so it can be used in wet environments such as a swimming pool or car washes.
